Job Description for Kennel Mangers
There is no compensation for this position, you will receive room & board in exchange for your labor with everything that needs done, and you will be required to study materials presented and pass written and practical exams. Working with animals in a kennel setting requires knowledge on how to handle and care for animals and also on how to run an efficient business. Kennel managers who receive training in pet-specific areas, like canine nutrition and first aid for dogs, are better equipped to maintain the physical and mental health of their animal clients and to respond to any emergency situations that might arise during their stay. Training in kennel management will include: * instruction in basic business management, * the use of specialized computer management software designed for kennels * basic QuickBooks instruction for daily recording of finances * facilities planning, care and upkeep * basic dog training * basic pet grooming * business marketing * employee management * OSHA regulation compliance * maintaining client records * maintaining the cleanliness of the kennels * understanding the impetus for certain behaviors exhibited by the dogs or cats. * canine psychology * the identificaiton and control of internal and external parasites * helping dogs that suffer emotional problems due to being away from their owners Job Description for Kennel Managers |
Boarding Kennel Owner / Management
With our live in work exchange program you can train for a career that has an advertised starting salary range of between $22,000 & $45,000. This program is also offered as a six-month applicant paid course at $26,900. Work exchange includes doing everything on a daily basis required to operate this type of business, including study and exams. Besides applying through our regular application process, we require you maintain medical insurance on yourself for the term of our contract, and a resume' must be mailed to us. |
